When Chicago Blackhawks President and CEO John McDonough ’75 came to campus Sept. 10, he brought with him the NHL championship Stanley Cup trophy. The Blackhawks, under McDonough’s leadership, have won the professional hockey championship three times in six years.

The popular Cup was made available to students and the public for viewing and photos, and a rally in Gostomski Fieldhouse celebrated the accomplishments of McDonough and two other Saint Mary’s alums working for the Blackhawks: Eric Lear ’08, team reporter for chicagoblackhawks.com; and Adam Gill ’08, video coach for the Blackhawks’ Rockford Icehogs affiliate.
