Lasallian Week of Peace at the Winona Campus is part of an international movement, when Lasallians around the world come together to support the ideals of peace in all places. This year’s theme focused on “Immigration: ‘I was a stranger and you welcomed me,’” and events related to our campus and to the larger Catholic community. Sponsored by the Office of Campus Ministry, the week offered opportunities to look at the complex issues of immigration from different angles and find the human dimension.
A Dine with the Divine dinner featured Rebecca Scholtz, state attorney with Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid, who discussed the legal process of immigration for Central American children. Other events include a presentation by Dr. Kierra Crago-Schneider from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum; a talk by an undocumented Augsburg College student; an ecumenical prayer service; a fair trade sale; and daily prayer at the campus Peace Pole.
