Two academic departments will offer innovative new and updated programs next fall in line with our mission to prepare students to lead and serve in their careers and communities.
In the Communication Department, new majors include: Digital Media and Journalism (an exciting mix of courses in web authoring, social media, multimedia production, marketing, advanced newswriting, and graphic design); and Strategic Communication (an appealing stand-alone or double major option for students in art, business, public relations, marketing, journalism, or other majors. This major also includes new leadership courses.) New minors will also be offered in Digital Media and Journalism, and Leadership. In addition, the Public Relations major has been updated.
The Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics Department has added a major in Computer Data Science (an in-demand field of study that offers three concentration options: Computer Science, Data Analytics, and Geographic Information Science). New related minors include Computer Science and Geographic Information Science.
